ABOUT //

Mosh Mouth is a one-button video game in which you must duck and two-step your way through the mosh pit that has formed in a giant creature’s mouth.

As a love letter to Denver’s local hardcore scene, I sought to create a simple game in Unity that captures both the fun chaos of hardcore punk crowds—the moshers, the stagedivers—as well as the caring community—the people who fall in the pit and immediately get picked up by fellow moshers.

In the game, pressing down the spacebar allows you to crouch and slowly dance on the ground, while releasing the button allows you to mosh upright.

Your goal is survive as long as you can in the mosh pit by switching between these two modes, ducking to dodge stagedivers and pick up fellow moshers and then going back to moshing to protect yourself against fellow two-steppers. The player’s health is represent by the set of teeth, which get knocked loose whenever you take a hit.

I fully programmed and made all the original assets and animations for the game over a period of two weeks. The scripts for the game were programmed in C#, which is the language that’s native to Unity.
